OpenAI introduces GPT-4. On paper it's "just" the next version of ChatGPT, but the differences are huge.

GPT-4 handles more complex requests, makes fewer mistakes, reasons better on multi-step problems, and for the first time can look at an image and talk about it. It passes the bar exam and medical exams at top-human levels.

It's not free like base ChatGPT: it sits behind a subscription (ChatGPT Plus, $20/month) or the paid API. From now on, "GPT-4" is the standard every new model gets compared to.
