Kling AI (Kuaishou): 1080p video up to 2 minutes with coherent motion
In one sentence Kuaishou launches Kling AI, a video model capable of generating 1080p clips up to 2 minutes with coherent physics and motion, competitive with Sora in public demonstrations.
A few months after OpenAI had shown Sora (but without making it available to the public), Chinese company Kuaishou launched Kling AI with similar capabilities — and actually accessible.
Kling generates videos up to 2 minutes at 1080p quality starting from text or an image. What impresses is motion coherence: objects behave in physically plausible ways, characters move naturally, the camera can change perspective without obvious artifacts.
The release of Kling demonstrated that there was no need to wait for OpenAI to get quality AI video: global competition in generative video had already begun.
