Anthropic launches Claude Teams: enterprise plan for small and mid-size teams

In one sentence Anthropic introduces Claude Teams at $25/user/month: shared projects, team-level system prompts, admin console, SOC2 compliance, and 200k token context. The first Anthropic product specifically targeting small-to-mid enterprise teams.

Anthropic, the company behind Claude, always had a positioning gap: Claude Pro was too individual for serious enterprise use, while Claude Enterprise was too expensive and complex for small teams.

Claude Teams fills that gap. Launched May 29, 2024 at $25 per user per month, it is designed for working groups of 5 to 50 people who want to use AI together, in a coordinated way.

The key feature is shared projects: each team can create a project with a common set of instructions (how Claude should behave in that context), reference documents, and a conversation history visible to team members. No more everyone using Claude independently with inconsistent results.

With 200,000 tokens of context, Claude Teams can analyze long documents — contracts, reports, entire codebases — without losing track. SOC2 compliance and an admin panel make it adoptable even in companies with strict IT policies.

Compared to ChatGPT Team (also $25/user), Claude Teams competes directly by emphasizing its larger context window and Claude's reputation for accuracy in text analysis.
