HuggingFace LeRobot: the open-source library democratizing robot learning
In one sentence HuggingFace launches LeRobot: open-source ML library for robotics with standardized datasets, ACT and Diffusion Policy training, and an Aloha-compatible hardware kit for 100 dollars.
LeRobot is HuggingFace's answer to the complexity of machine learning for robots. Just as HuggingFace simplified language model training by making it accessible to everyone, it's now doing the same for physical robots.
The library includes standardized datasets (so researchers can compare results), the most modern training algorithms ready to use (ACT and Diffusion Policy), and even an affordable hardware kit compatible with the popular Aloha system, assemblable for around 100 dollars in parts.
The goal is that anyone — even without a fully equipped lab — can collect demonstration data, train a policy, and test the robot with standardized tools shared across the entire community.
