Udio v3 & Suno v4: Professional-Grade AI Music Generation

In the same week, the two leading AI music generation tools released major versions: Udio v3 and Suno v4. The results are impressive and controversial in equal measure. Vocal quality on produced tracks has reached a point where it's hard to distinguish from a professional human singer — at least on certain genres. From a single prompt you can generate a complete song with intro, verses, chorus, bridge, and outro. Before, generated songs sounded mechanical and repetitive; now they have structural coherence and production quality comparable to professional work. This has two consequences: on one hand, it opens enormous possibilities for creators, game developers, podcasters, and advertisers; on the other, it has intensified legal tensions. The music industry has escalated lawsuits against both companies over alleged unauthorized use of copyrighted music in training.
