Google Releases Gemini 2.0 Pro with Deep Think Reasoning Mode

Google released Gemini 2.0 Pro, their most capable model to date, and it comes with a new feature called Deep Think. This mode gives the model extra time to reason through difficult problems step by step before answering, similar to how OpenAI's o1 and o3 models work. The model can handle up to two million tokens — roughly twenty novels worth of text — in a single conversation. Unlike other models, it can also generate audio and images directly without needing separate tools. It pulls in real-time information from Google Search automatically when needed. The model powers all of Google Workspace, meaning Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides all benefit from its capabilities. It was positioned as a direct competitor to OpenAI's o3 and Anthropic's Claude Sonnet, with Google emphasizing lower cost and tighter integration with its existing product ecosystem.
