Open weights vs open source

An 'open weights' model only releases downloadable parameters; an 'open source' one also publishes training data, recipes, and code in a reproducible way.

Llama, Mistral, DeepSeek are open weights but not full open source. For enterprise use open weights already let you run the model on-prem, fine-tune it, inspect it; but read the license carefully because it has usage limits.
