GitHub Copilot Workspace GA: From Issue to PR in One Click

GitHub made Copilot Workspace generally available — one of the most anticipated dev tools in recent years. The flow: you have an open Issue on GitHub (a bug, a feature request, anything) → click a button → the agent reads the Issue, understands what needs doing, plans the solution, writes code across all necessary files, runs the tests, and opens a Pull Request ready for review. All without you writing a single line of code. 500,000 developers had already tested this workflow during beta. It's the direct answer from Microsoft/GitHub to tools like Devin (Cognition's AI developer agent) and Cursor Agent. The difference is that Copilot Workspace is natively integrated into the GitHub workflow developers already use — there's no separate IDE to learn.
